Bridges is Highly Recommended
Garden: Children at Bridges enjoy planting and harvesting in our organic garden that includes vegetables, herbs and a special section of flowers planned to attract butterflies. There are apples and grapes to pick, potatoes to dig, tomatoes to pluck off the vine and pumpkins and gourds to enjoy in the fall. We feed the birds with seeds from our giant sunflowers and utilize garden produce for both cooking and craft projects.

Art and Music Festival: This spring event features the art work of Bridges students. The display includes paintings, drawings, collages, sculptures and creative works that our preschoolers completed during the year both at home and at school. Parents, grandparents and friends gather to enjoy the art and participate in an afternoon of musical entertainment.

Dad's Day:Bridges’ dads are special guests on Saturdays in the spring. Each child invites their dad or a granddad to participate in a typical day of class activities. Blocks turn into construction projects, stories are shared and paintings are created as dads rediscover how children learn through the pleasure of play.

Fall Fun Festival: On a Sunday in September Bridges’ families celebrate the beginning of the school year with a Fun Festival at Bridges School. Moms, dads, and extended families get acquainted while children enjoy games with prizes (everyone wins) and entertainment. This is a celebration for the entire Bridges community of families as we welcome a new school year.

Bridges On The Move emphasizes the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The program encourages good nutrition and exercise for children and their families. A Registered Dietician prepares recommendations for daily classroom snacks and writes Bridges Bites, a newsletter for parents that includes suggestions for nutritious meals and a healthy life style.

The Parent Connection offers opportunities to participate in a variety of school activities. Parents can join our Parent Advisory Committee, volunteer to help in the Bridges garden, or assist with other school festivals and special events.

Partners In Play is a program inviting parents to spend a day in their child’s class and participate in the classroom experience. It provides an opportunity for parents to find out what children are learning through play.
